Your iPhone's navigation on your BMW's HUD and instrument cluster

Wayglass puts turns, distance, street names and lanes from Google Maps, Apple Maps and other CarPlay navigation apps on the head-up display and the LED instrument cluster of NBT Evo cars. It looks just like the built-in navigation.

What's on the HUD

Everything you need for the next maneuver, without taking your eyes off the road.

Hover or tap an item to highlight it on the HUD.

HUD: a 30 sign, 0 km/h, Rottendorfer Str, 100m, a roundabout with the second exit, lanes with the left one highlighted.
Roundabout: exit number and lanes
HUD at night in red and orange: a 30 sign, 0 km/h, Rottendorfer Str, 100m, a roundabout with the second exit and lanes.
Night colours
HUD in daylight over the road: a 30 sign, 0 km/h, Rottendorfer Str, 50m, a right-turn arrow, lanes with the right one highlighted.

HUD, cluster or both

Wayglass shows the same guidance on the LED instrument cluster too — between the dials, where BMW navigation draws it. Choose where in the car menu.

Auto
Like BMW navigation: HUD on — guidance on the HUD; HUD off with the Head-Up Display button — on the cluster. The default.
HUD
The head-up display only.
Cluster
The LED instrument cluster only — also in cars without a HUD.
HUD and cluster
Both at once.
LED instrument cluster: between the speedometer and the rev counter — a street name, 640m, a right-turn arrow and lanes.

Looks built-in

Same places on the HUD and cluster, same colours as the car's own navigation, day and night.

BMW navigation comes first

Start the built-in guidance and Wayglass hands over the HUD and the cluster, then comes back when it ends.

Set and forget

Starts with the car. No internet needed in the car.

When BMW navigation is on

The built-in navigation comes first. As soon as it starts guidance, Wayglass hands over the HUD and the cluster and comes back on its own when guidance ends. You can’t run a route on the iPhone and in BMW navigation at the same time: starting one cancels the other.

Navigation apps

Plan the route on your phone or on the car screen. What each app sends to the HUD and cluster:

Lanes are shown when the app provides them. Of the tested apps, Yandex Navigator does.

Settings right in the car

A Wayglass item appears in the "My Vehicle" menu — everything is visible and adjustable from the car screen.

On Android?

Android Auto guidance on the HUD and cluster comes with the Android Auto on NBT Evo project: the same arrows, roundabouts and lanes.
