Own vehicle picture
A photo of your car instead of the standard BMW picture on the "My Vehicle" screen. The factory picture is kept in the head unit and comes back with one button.
The file you need
- A PNG of exactly 378×243 pixels.
- RGBA colour, 8 bits per channel, not interlaced — almost every editor saves PNG this way. A car on a transparent background looks best, like the factory picture.
- No larger than 4 MB.
- Named nbt-hero.png, in the root of the USB stick, not in a folder.
- 1Copy nbt-hero.png to the root of a FAT32 USB stick and plug it into the car.
- 2Open "My Vehicle → NBT Tools → Own vehicle picture". The top line shows the vehicle series and which picture is in place; below it — whether the file on the stick fits.
- 3Press "Install from USB" and wait for "Your picture is installed".
- 4Press "Reboot NBT" and confirm. After the restart, your picture is on the "My Vehicle" screen.
- To go back, press "Restore factory picture" on the same screen and reboot the NBT.
- The menu takes the vehicle series from the head unit coding — there is nothing to choose.
- Works with the ID6 interface. On head units with the ID5 interface this function does not change the picture.
- If the file does not fit, the menu says what is wrong: size, format or a damaged file. The head unit is left unchanged.
