Android Auto on the built-in NBT Evo screen

Wireless Android Auto on your BMW's central display — across the full width, no adapters, no computer in the car. The phone connects by itself when you get in.

  • Full screen width

What it looks like every day

  1. 1

    Get in the car

The head unit starts Android Auto by itself, with the car. Nothing to press.

  2. 2

    The phone connects

Over the car's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi — no cables, no adapter in the port.

  3. 3

    Drive

The map on the built-in screen, music through the BMW speakers, guidance on the HUD.

What it does

Google Maps in Android Auto across the whole wide BMW screen.

Full screen

Android Auto fills the car's wide display without stretching, and touches land exactly where you tap.

The iDrive controller on the centre console: the knob and the MENU, MEDIA, COM, MAP, BACK and OPTION buttons.

Touch and iDrive

The screen, the iDrive controller and the BACK button — like the built-in menus.

Sound like a built-in source

Music through the BMW audio system, volume on the usual controls, navigation prompts lower the music. A call or BMW voice control pauses Android Auto.

Alongside CarPlay

Your iPhone still connects through CarPlay. Android Auto and CarPlay take turns without restarting the head unit.

Android Auto sits in Media next to the radio and USB: open it, connect the phone, stop it, connect automatically.

The built-in CarPlay button brings Android Auto back from any menu.

The Media/Radio menu on the car screen: Android Auto selected among the sources, with Open, Connect, Stop and Connect automatically on the right.
